Happy raise-eve to all of us earning at the extreme low end of the hourly wage spectrum! Starting tomorrow, July 1st, Oregon will increase the minimum wage by $0.35 across all it’s 36 counties.
Oregon’s minimum wage system is divided into three tiers: the Portland metro area, the standard tier (which includes Yamhill County), and the non-urban tier. As of tomorrow, the minimum wage will rise to $16.30, $15.05, and $14.05 in these respective areas.
This bump, which happens once a year and is tied to the state determined cost-of-living adjustment, is the smallest increase to the minimum wage in the past decade.
