I just got off the phone (3:10 PM) with the local Executive Director, Suey Linzmeier- As of now, they’re holding their breath while waiting to find out if they are also impacted. But, it was stated that the Head Start of Yamhill County has **roughly** enough money through the end of April.
Head Start is a federally funded program that provides early childhood education five days a week to low-income children ages 0-5. Even a brief pause in funding could leave local families scrambling for pre-K care and could potentially cause layoffs across Yamhill County, increasing the local unemployment rate.
